Postcards from My Pocket: Exploring the World

Last summer, I went on a fantastic trip! I visited Italy with my family. We planned the trip for many months. We wanted to see all the important places. First, we flew to Rome. Rome is a very old city. We saw the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. It was amazing to imagine life many years ago. We ate pizza and pasta every day! The food was delicious.

After Rome, we took a train to Florence. Florence is famous for art. We visited many museums and saw beautiful paintings. I liked the statue of David the best. It was huge! We also walked across the Ponte Vecchio, a bridge with shops on it.

Finally, we went to Venice. Venice is a city built on water. We travelled in a gondola, a long, thin boat. The gondolier sang a song. It was very romantic! We bought souvenirs for our friends. I also took lots of photos.

I learned a lot about Italy and Italian culture. I want to travel to more countries in the future. Maybe next year I will go to Spain. I am already saving money for my next adventure! Travelling is a great way to learn and have fun.
