Passport to Pizza: My Italian Adventure
Last summer, I went to Italy. It was my first time traveling alone, and I was a little nervous, but also very excited. I planned the trip for months. I wanted to see Rome, Florence, and Venice.
First, I flew to Rome. The flight was long, but I slept most of the way. In Rome, I visited the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. They were very old and impressive! I also ate lots of pizza and pasta. It was delicious. I stayed in a small hotel near the city center. Everyone was very friendly.
Next, I took a train to Florence. Florence is famous for art. I went to the Uffizi Gallery and saw paintings by famous artists like Michelangelo. I also walked across the Ponte Vecchio, a bridge with shops on it.
Finally, I went to Venice. Venice is a city built on water. I took a gondola ride and saw the canals. It was very romantic! I also visited St. Mark's Square, a big open space. I bought some souvenirs for my family.
I learned a lot on my trip. I practiced my Italian, and I met new people. I hope I can go back to Italy again someday. It was an amazing adventure!
